Nude Man Shot By Rideshare Driver After Assaulting Woman In OC, Police Say
A nude man was assaulting a woman in an Orange County neighborhood when he was shot by a rideshare driver, reports say.
ORANGE COUNTY, CA — A 20-year-old man was hospitalized after he allegedly assaulted a woman while in the nude in an Orange County neighborhood, authorities said Monday.
Witnesses say the nude man, identified only as a 20-year-old Hispanic male, was assaulting a woman in a Stanton neighborhood in the 7100 block of Custer Way when a rideshare driver intervened.
According to the Orange County Sheriff's Department, the incident was reported on Sunday at 7:49 p.m. by a man who claimed he shot a man who he saw assaulting a woman.

Upon arriving, deputies found the 20-year-old Hispanic man suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to an area hospital where he remains in critical but stable condition, authorities said.
According to KTLA, a nearby neighbor said he looked through his window a saw a man "beating on a woman." When the neighbor ran outside, he said the woman's attacker had started punching a rideshare driver's car.

"That's when I saw him completely nude," the witness told KTLA.
The man who reported the shooting remained at the incident's location and was interviewed by sheriff's investigators. He was later released.
The woman who was assaulted was treated at the scene by the Orange County Fire Authority for injuries sustained during the assault.
The 20-year-old suspect is currently being treated at a local hospital and may face charges pending further investigation.
