Disneyland Bomb Threat Targeted Vice President JD Vance: DOJ

An Orange County man faces a federal charge in connection with a threat to plant pipe bombs at Disneyland before the vice president's visit.

ANAHEIM, CA — An Anaheim man is facing a federal charge after he apparently promised bloodshed at Disneyland during a visit by President J.D. Vance and his family in 2025.

Marco Antonio Aguayo is accused of authoring threatening social media comments on Disney's Instagram page on July 12, 2025, the same day Vance and his family visited the resort.

"Pipe bombs have been placed in preparation for J.D. Vance's arrival," he allegedly wrote, according to a federal complaint originally reported by Seamus Hughes' Court Watch. According to the U.S. Department of Justice, he is suspected of making a threat against the president and successors to the presidency.

“It’s time for us to rise up and you will be a witness to it,” the post continued. "Good luck finding all of them on time there will be bloodshed tonight and we will bathe in the blood of corrupt politicians."

According to the complaint, when confronted by the Secret Service, Aguaro initially denied it before later admitting writing the comments.

"He claimed that he intended it merely as a joke to provoke attention and laughter," the complaint said. "AGUAYO stated he contemplated deleting the post but ultimately forgot to do so."

According to the complaint, federal officials will seek a warrant to search the entirety of Aguayo's apartment.

The alleged threats were made while Vance and his family visited Disneyland on July 12, 2025. Flight restrictions were placed around the theme park from that Friday to Sunday in preparation for the vice president's visit, according to The Orange County Register.

Despite being home to the vaunted "Hall of Presidents," it's very rare for sitting presidents or vice presidents to visit Disneyland. The last time a sitting president visited the House of Mouse was in 1975, when Gerald Ford made the trip, according to Mouse Planet.
