Orange County Man Missing After Early Morning Hike

YORBA LINDA, CA — Crews are searching for a 63-year-old Yorba Linda man who left his home for a hike around 2:30 a.m. Friday and did not return, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

Jeffrey Paul Morton does the hike daily and typically returns home around 6 a.m., the sheriff's office said, adding that he does not have a cell phone and no one knows his usual route.

Morton is white, around 6 feet tall, and weighs 180 pounds, the sheriff's department said. He has light brown hair and hazel eyes.

His car, a white 2004 Acura MDX, was found at the corner of Brea Hills Drive and Carbon Canyon Road, across the street from Carbon Canyon Regional Park, authorities said.
