Patrol Officer Suffers Multiple Injuries In Santa Ana Crash

A Santa Ana police officer suffered multiple injuries during a crash Monday morning.

SANTA ANA, CA —A Santa Ana police officer on patrol was injured Monday when his vehicle collided with another driver. The officer suffered multiple injuries.

The crash occurred about 1:30 a.m. at Civic Center Drive and Main Street, Santa Ana police Cmdr. M. Moreno said.

The officer was hospitalized, Santa Ana Police Corporal Anthony Bertagna said. "He's sore, he has multiple injuries, but he will survive."

The driver of the other car remained at the scene and cooperated with the investigation, he said. Whether he had any injuries was not reported. The crash investigation continued.

A news videographer reported that while the police officer was taken to a hospital, the driver of the other vehicle was seen sitting on a curb.
