ORANGE COUNTY, CA — A south Orange County entrepreneur admitted to partnering with a former Orange County police chief and members of an extremist group for the purpose of organizing a group of "fighters" to participate in the Jan. 6 insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, multiple outlets reported Thursday.
Russell Taylor pleaded guilty to a count of obstruction of an official proceeding, NBC News reported. Previously, he had faced several other federal charges, including obstruction, entering a restricted building and unlawful possession of a dangerous weapon on Capitol grounds.
