Students Raise Nearly $2,000 for Children Locally and Abroad

Students at Heritage Oak Private Education held fundraisers to support local foster children and families in need around the world

Students at Heritage Oak Private Education recently raised nearly $2,000 to support various charitable initiatives to benefit foster children in Orange County, as well as families across the globe. Students selected various nonprofit organizations to support using the funds, which included helping families in the Philippines through nonprofit organization Threads of Hope, providing scholarships for children in Kenya through Missions of Hope, purchasing educational resources for 10 refugee girls through International Rescue Committee, and filling 25 duffel bags with stuffed animals, blankets, toiletries and more for local foster children through Together We Rise.

To raise the funds, Heritage Oak held a “dollar dash” during the intermission of a school musical, during which students collected as many cash donations as possible from the audience. Additionally, students held a fundraiser in collaboration with Threads of Hope and sold more than 600 bracelets handmade by Filipino families, who benefit from the sales. Through these efforts, students learned the importance of helping other children in need, both locally and internationally.
