Deputies were alerted by school administrators Friday and are forwarding the case to juvenile probation, while urging Orcutt students and families to keep reporting any online threats immediately.

• Cancer survivor Gilbert Rea continues to be master of the BBQ pit (santamariatimes.com) — An Orcutt resident and longtime oil-field worker, Gilbert Rea, is sharing how he’s back at the BBQ pit and a “hobby job” after surviving both leukemia and stage 4 stomach cancer. From his Orcutt home, he credits Mission Hope Cancer Center, ongoing immunotherapy, and strong family and workplace support with helping him stay active and hopeful.
