• Hit And Run Crash Causes Traffic Logjam In Orinda Wednesday (news24-680.com) — A hit-and-run crash shut down Camino Pablo between Santa Maria and Camino Sobrante for much of Wednesday morning, causing major traffic delays in Orinda while CHP and local police investigated. Officers later located a damaged blue Honda and a possible driver on eastbound Highway 24 near the Saint Stephens onramp, but have not yet released details on injuries or the cause.
   

• California Sets First-In-Nation AI Audit Standards as Governor Newsom Signs New Safeguard Bills (daily49er.com) — An Orinda-based lawmaker helped shape California’s new first-in-the-nation system for independently auditing AI, which Governor Newsom just signed into law. The bills create a statewide registry of qualified AI auditors, set strict independence and transparency rules, and will take effect in 2027, potentially influencing how AI used in everything from public services to business is evaluated for safety and bias.
