Oxnard police probe second shooting in as many days (vcstar.com) — Police shut down the busy intersection of Pleasant Valley and Saviers roads in South Oxnard on April 20 while investigating the city’s second shooting in as many days. The incident capped a violent weekend that also included a College Estates Park shooting and a separate stabbing on East Channel Islands Boulevard.
   

2. Police shoot man allegedly armed with machete outside Oxnard restaurant (cbsnews.com) — Oxnard police shot a man Monday afternoon after he allegedly waved a machete and threatened people outside a restaurant on West Pleasant Valley Road. Officers say he ignored commands before they opened fire; he was hospitalized, with his condition unknown, and no other injuries reported as investigators processed a large crime scene.
   

3. Oxnard man arrested after pursuit, discovery of stolen rifle (vcstar.com) — Oxnard police arrested a 42-year-old local man on April 19 after a short car and foot chase that ended with officers recovering a stolen rifle and high-capacity magazines. The man, a convicted felon barred from having guns, was booked into Ventura County jail on multiple suspected gun-related felonies and misdemeanors, including evading officers.
   

4. Dos Pueblos Boys Golf Handles Oxnard in League Matchup (noozhawk.com) — Oxnard High’s boys golf team fell to Dos Pueblos in a Channel League match played Monday at Glen Annie Golf Course in Goleta, 386–444. With several Oxnard varsity players away accepting an academic award, JV Chargers stepped up and three posted personal-best rounds in the win.
