Oceana Art Gallery: The Surf Show

Opening night for "The Surf Show," a collection of surf art and photography by surfers, running through Oct. 20 at Oceana Art Gallery, 150 Eureka Square, Pacifica. The opening reception is from 7 to 9 p.m. and the public is invited. It will be hosted by the Oceana Arts Collective — co-directors Elizabeth Marshall, Kay Marshall and Rig Terrell — as well as Vasu Narayanan, the owner of Oceana Market. The gallery will also be open Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m.

California’s Coastal Cleanup Day in Pacifica 

It’s that time of year again when the state’s largest volunteer event gives all Californians the chance to learn about and actively participate in conserving coastal resources. Join your fellow Pacificans to pick up and clear away debris collecting along our beaches, parks, shoreline, creeks, parking lots and neighborhood streets from Mussel Rock to Sweeney Ridge to Pedro Point before the winter rains wash it all into the ocean. 

Fog Fest Fandango

A dinner and dance celebration and official kick off celebration to Fog Fest weekend, presented by the Pacifica Chamber of Commerce. Live music, food and drink, a silent auction, raffle and Spanish attire is encouraged as a prize for best costume will be awarded. The Taco Man will be on site serving up some Mexican delights along with dessert and more food stations to satisfy all appetites. A no-host wine & beer bar with a signature sangrias and refreshing (alcohol & non-alcohol) margaritas will be served up. Special entertainment by The Unauthorized Rolling Stones - always a crowd favorite Put on those boogie show and come dance the night away to their most popular songs.  A Silent Auction with great items and services will be available to bid on throughout the night and if that's not your thing, try your hand at the 50/50 raffle with more great prizes. At St. Peter's Church, 700 Oddstad Blvd., Pacifica.

"A Night of Cole Porter" With Meg Mackay and Billy Philadelphia 

Meg Mackay and Billy Philadelphia, named the "first couple" of cabaret by the San Francisco Chronicle, will perform wonderful intimate music from the Cole Porter Songbook in "So in Love: the Songs of Cole Porter." At Pacifica Performances Mildred Owen Concert Hall, 1220 Linda Mar Blvd. Tickets: $20 general. $17 seniors (62+) and students with current ID. $15 members. $12 senior/student members. Under 18 free.

Pedro Point Headlands Workday this Sunday

Join volunteers for a habitat restoration day with projects such as invasive removal and seed collecting. While most of the other plants have dried up and shed their seed, the Pearly Everlasting, Coyote bush, sage, and coffeeberry plants are taking center stage and showing off their colors. This workday is a project of the Pacifica Land Trust, funded by the CA Coastal Conservancy and supported by the Pedro Point Community Association.
