Catch & Count Creek Creatures Day on the Chapman DeMary Trail!

Come help water quality experts and the Nature Generation test the water quality of the South Fork Catoctin Creek on the Trail.

The Nature Generation invites families, youth groups and residents to help us test water quality in Catoctin Creek. During this fun, annual event, we monitor and improve the health of the creek. We will catch, identify and count macroinvertibrates such as clams, water pennies and mayflies; conduct turbidity tests; pick up trash to keep it from polluting the creek; and plant native plants to improve water quality. There will also be nature walks and more information about improving the water quality where you live.

There is no experience required to participate in this free event. Meet on the Chapman DeMary Trail in Purcellville, VA at 1:00 pm on June 4. Bring gloves and dress appropriately for weather and for walking in a wooded, wet area. For more information about the Trail, visit: www.natgen.org
