Daly City Police Need Help Identifying Cell Phone Theft Suspect

Police say the man stole an iPhone when a clerk got distracted.

Daly City Police are asking the public’s help in identifying a suspected cell phone thief.

The man apparently entered a local AT&T store on Tuesday, saying he was looking for a new phone for his daughter, according to a nixle alert from police.

“He was in the store for about 10-15 minutes before waiting for the opportunity when the employee was busy and then walked behind the employee and took an iPhone from the counter,” police said.

Cops say he then ran out, and got into a stolen Toyota RAV 4, with the license plate number: 6PUW608.

The man is described as black, 25-35 years old, about 6-foot tall, weighing approximately 220 pounds. He was wearing a Pittsburg Steelers jersey, Steelers baseball cap and jeans at the time of the crime, police said.
