DUI Suspected in Four-Vehicle Pacifica Crash
Police say two of the vehicles involved were motorcycles.

PACIFICA, CA – A Pennsylvania man was arrested on suspicion of DUI after allegedly causing a crash involving two cars and two motorcycles on Tuesday, police say.
The man was driving under the influence of alcohol when the wreck happened at 1 a.m. in the area of Clarendon Road and Oceana Boulevard, according to Pacifica police. A police officer happened to be on patrol in the area around the same time, and responded to the scene just after it occurred.
"The officer noticed crash debris, two severely damaged vehicles and two motorcycles that were all involved in the collision," police said in a news release.

Both of the motorcycle riders complained of pain but they refused treatment. A driver of a vehicle, however, was taken to a hospital, according to police.
Officers eventually determined the driver who was hospitalized was allegedly under the influence of alcohol and at fault for the collision, police said.

"During the investigation, it was determined the driver at fault for the collision was under the influence of alcohol and he was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence," Pacifica police said.
The driver was identified as 23-year-old Liam Purcell from Nazareth, Pennsylvania.
After he was medically cleared from the hospital, officers arrested Purcell on suspicion of driving while under the influence and causing bodily injury and booked him into the Maguire Correctional Facility in Redwood City, according to police.
