Earthquake Preparedness Class: Sign-Ups Underway

The session is free, but seating is limited.

PACIFICA, CA — The Pacifica Police Department and Pacifica Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) are offering a free, 90-minute class on Tuesday Aug. 20, focusing on what to do to prepare for a significant earthquake or disaster.

Following a major quake, emergency services are often overwhelmed, and preparedness experts encourage everyone to be prepared to care for themselves for at least 72 hours.

Th class will address such topics as community emergency notification systems, having a family plan, storing supplies, first aid, and away-from-home kits.

The session will be from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Pacifica Police Department, 2075 Coast Highway.
