El Granada Woman ID'd in Deadly Half Moon Bay Crash

Coroner's officials publicly identified a woman Monday who died after crashing into a tree. [BREAKING]

HALF MOON BAY, CA — San Mateo County coroner's officials say a 21-year-old El Granada resident died in a weekend crash on the Peninsula.

The woman, Mikaila Susan Lucido, died at the scene of the wreck, which was reported at 12:55 a.m. Sunday near the intersection of southbound state Highway 1 and Wavecrest Road, according to the sheriff's office. Lucido was the sole occupant in the vehicle.

The Major Accident Investigation Team is handling the investigation for the sheriff's office, Zuno said, adding that it's also under investigation whether drugs or alcohol played a part in the crash.

Meanwhile, sheriff's officials are seeking anyone who may have witnessed the crash.

Lucido was a student at the College of San Mateo, according to her Facebook profile. She had previously attended both Half Moon Bay High School as well as Freedom High School in Oakley, according to the Facebook profile.
