artists (18 and older) for our fourth annual 50-50
Show.
Find out what's happening in Pacificafor free with the latest updates from Patch.
Accepted artists will create 50 small
works over the course of 50 days. Each artist
chooses a theme for their 50 pieces, and uses
the same medium for all 50 pieces. Production
for participating artists will begin June 11 and end
July 30, 2012.
Juror:
Serving as juror is Barry Sakata, owner
of B. Sakata Garo (gallery) in Sacramento.
Sakata grew up farming with his family, and hefollowed
that direction in his own life for a while.
But then he began thinking about the strong pull
fine art had for him when he was studying at
USC, and determined to bring cutting-edge
contemporary art to the city of Sacramento. He
started B. Sakata Garo in 1989 and since then
has earned a sterling reputation for his attention
to detail, his understanding and appreciation of
contemporary fine art, and his contribution to the
cultural life of Sacramento.
