Jazz Shack is a concept introduced to the Bay Area by San Francisco-based Trumpeter Francisco Fabrega.
In recent years, Fabrega has returned to his love of jazz trumpet,
coordinating performances in Portland Oregon at the Vie de Boehme, The
Central Hotel and hosting weekly jazz jams at Bistro 153. He also
recently had an opportunity to share the stage with jazz great, Dick Berk.
Fabrega studied under the direction of Ivan Simmons at the SF
Conservatory of Music and until recently with Edward Higgins in Portland
Oregon. Some of his biggest influences are Eddie Henderson and Donald
Byrd.
As a trumpet player who constantly obsesses over sound,
Fabrega is proud to say he plays a classic Olds Ambassador that he has
owned since his youth.
