Man Caught With Meth While Stealing Merchandise From SMC Home Depot: Police

When officers arrived Home Depot loss prevention was trying to detain the man, police said.

COLMA, CA β€” Police said they found suspected methamphetamine on a San Francisco man who was arrested following a theft at the Home Depot on Colma Boulevard, police announced Monday.

At around 11 a.m. on Jan. 9, Colma Police Department officers said they were dispatched to the Home Depot at 2 Colma Blvd. after receiving a call about a theft. Police said a 40-year-old man had stolen merchandise and was actively arguing with store loss prevention officers, who were attempting to detain him.

Officers said they found the man in the middle of the Home Depot parking lot and took him into custody.

Home Depot loss prevention officers positively identified the 40-year-old San Francisco resident as the man responsible for the theft.

During a search, officers said they found drugs, believed to be crystal methamphetamine, and drug paraphernalia on the man.

He was arrested for theft, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of narcotics.

He was issued a citation and released on his promise to appear in court, police said.
