Outsource your worries to a Hermit on the beach?
An unusual sight has appeared on the cliffs of Linda Mar beach!

Tessa Wills, a very dedicated and unusual artist from San Francisco has decided to set up a Hermitude as an art project.
“I wanted to make performances that people could stumble across as they were on a walk, not just see in theatres” said Wills, who has always been a cutting edge artist. (www.tessawills.com)

Wills had conversations with several walkers who came past, asking what they were worrying about, and then promising to worry about it for them!

“Hermits have always done a lot of thinking on behalf of cultures and communities” Wills said. “This performance is doing that work on an interpersonal scale. Often people worry about things and it can overtake the nice walk they are on. Perhaps the fun idea of having someone else tend to your worries for you can lighten your day a bit, even if it’s just the idea that’s funny.” I love Pacifica and have spent a lot of time thinking and working at Linda Mar over the last five years” said Wills, who has also shot an internationally acclaimed music video on the beach.
The project took place on the 3rd, 4th and 5th of November for six hours a day. The performance will be featured on the Marina Abrovomitch Institute of Performance site (http://www.immaterial.org/), who call Wills “someone whose work we want to stay engaged with.”
