Pacifica Ballet School Needs Your Help

The ballet school is trying to install a new floor in the main studio and is seeking the public's help.

From Classical Ballet of California: Classical Ballet of California has been teaching ballet to Pacifica’s children for over twenty years. In fact students of all ages are welcome at the ballet studio in the historic business district of Palmetto Avenue. Many of the students participate in the school’s celebrated annual production of The Nutcracker.

Nina Baratova, the school’s artistic director, is on a quest to take the elitism out of ballet and purposely keeps fees for classes low so as to attract a wide spectrum of students. In order to achieve this the ballet school occasionally reaches out to the community to help with funding for special projects.

One such project is the installation of a new floor in the school’s main studio. Marley Flooring is a specialized floor covering that helps prevent injury to performers due to its cushioning and non-slip surface. Classical Ballet of California is seeking to raise $5000 to replace the existing floor that is aging and beginning to buckle. A GoFundMe campaign has been launched so that people can contribute to the purchase and installation of the new floor.
