Pacifica Burglar Nabbed On New Year's Day: Police

Police say the victim in the crime helped them catch the alleged thief.

PACIFICA, CA — A 27-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of a residential burglary in Pacifica on New Year's Day, according to police.

Alicia Hanaway was arrested after police were dispatched in response to a call in the 400 block of Harvey Way around 11:25 a.m. Monday.

The victim of the burglary provided a dispatcher with a description of the suspect. Hanaway was taken into custody without incident after officers located her in the same area as where the burglary had taken
place, police said.

Hanaway, a Madison, Indiana native, was later booked into San Mateo County Jail on suspicion of residential burglary.
