Pacifica Co-op Nursery School Now In Its 55th Year
PCNS, established in 1960, is a cooperative preschool where parents learn about their children as their children learn about the world.
Pacifica Co-op Nursery School is now in its 55th year! The school, now the only cooperative preschool on the coast, began operating out of an old World War II era Quonset hut in 1960 after being outfitted for use as a classroom facility. As of 2015, the school has provided invaluable child rearing education and a connection to the broader community to families for 55 years. Many who attended the school as children continue to participate by bringing their own children into the program. This multi-generational participation demonstrates the inspirational quality of the school and the supportive experience it provides.
