Pacifica Co-op Nursery School Trike-A-Thon Fundraiser A Huge Success

The Pacifica Co-op Nursery School's annual Halloween themed Trike-A-Thon fundraiser was a fun and successful event.

The Pacifica Co-op Nursery School (PCNS) held its annual Trike-A-Thon on Saturday, October 24, 2015 at Ocean Shore Elementary School in Pacifica, CA. The event began with the young students of the school pedaling for pledges. Kids 2 ½ to 5 years old pedaled hard to raise money in support of their school and most completed 35 laps on the small cycling course. Reef, in his third year at the co-op, said his favorite part of the Trike-A-Thon was riding his bike.

After the cycling portion, the PCNS put on a mini Halloween themed carnival, which was open to the public. There were plenty of fun games suitable for preschoolers, as well as face painting and a pumpkin decorating activity. Gracie, who is in her first year at the school, recommended the witch hat game. She said it was her favorite thing at the carnival. The event also had delicious food catered by one co-op family’s local catering business, Assemble to Order. And, coffee was provided by Perfect Pour.

This was the first time the event was held at Ocean Shore School and PCNS Director Catherine Miller loved the new location. The school yard felt comfortable and safe and families were able to relax and enjoy the morning. Patrick, one of the co-op parents, said it was “so much fun!” His daughter Meadow, in her last year at the co-op, liked being able to see her friend Reed. Overall, the Trike-A-Thon was a huge success thanks to the efforts of all the co-op families and especially Jessica Stone, the school’s Trike-A-Thon Chair.
