Pacifica Fire Burns Hillside Vegetation: PHOTOS
BREAKING: The fire was reported around 11:15 a.m.
PACIFICA, CA — A fire in the Pacifica area prompted an area road closure for part of Wednesday, county officials say. The vegetation fire was first reported around 11:15 a.m. in the area of Fassler Avenue and Roberts Road, according to authorities.
The two-alarm grass fire burned an acre of land, according to the North County Fire Authority. Fire crews arrived to find heavy smoke and flames. They used hose lines to contain the blaze and remained on scene for about three hours to check for hot spots, fire officials said.
The fire prompted San Mateo County officials to close Fassler Road between SR-1 and Crespi Drive for about three hours. However, it was reopened around 2:40 p.m.
