Pacifica Man ID'd in Kidnapping Case
Police say the man grabbed a girl and forced her into his car on Halloween. Fortunately, she was able to escape. [BREAKING]

PACIFICA, CA – A Pacifica man is being held on $500,000 bail at the county jail on suspicion of kidnapping and annoying a child after police say he grabbed a young girl on Halloween from the sidewalk.
Police say that at 4:53 p.m. Monday, 41-year-old Mark Anthony Soliman was driving in the area of Hickey Boulevard and Firecrest Avenue and approached the girl.
"The suspect drove up to the juvenile female victim who was walking on the sidewalk and began honking the horn of his vehicle," Pacifica police said in a news release. "The suspect yelled at the victim to get into his vehicle."

The girl kept walking and didn't listen to the man, police said. However, Soliman then allegedly grabbed the girl instead, forcing her into his car.
"The victim was able to pull away from the suspect and fled on foot," police said.

Police say they combed through various law enforcement databases and were ultimately able to identify the car's owner as Soliman.
He was arrested at his home at about 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and booked into San Mateo County Jail on suspicion of kidnapping a child under 14 years old and annoying or molesting a child.
