Pacifica Pot Businesses: City Now Accepting Applications

After an extensive planning process, the city says it's ready to take applications for marijuana businesses.

PACIFICA, CA — Entrepreneurs looking to get into the marijuana business in Pacifica can now officially apply for a license in town. The city opened up the process on Dec. 12.

Here's the announcement from the city regarding how to obtain a business license for pot sales:

Following the passage of Proposition 64, the California Marijuana Legalization Initiative, the City of Pacifica began the extensive process of creating regulations for the operation of marijuana businesses in Pacifica. This process involved the work of City staff, the Planning Commission, and the City Council. On July 10, 2017, the Pacifica City Council adopted ordinances requiring marijuana businesses to obtain a Marijuana Public Safety License and a Marijuana Use Permit to lawfully operate in the City of Pacifica.

Beginning December 12, 2017, the City of Pacifica is accepting marijuana business applications. The application process and timeline for each portion of the application processes can be found on the City of Pacifica’s website. A link to the Marijuana Business Program page is here.
