Pacifica Prepares for Major Storm, Offers Residents Free Sandbags
City officials are urging residents to prepare for a storm that's about to make landfall Wednesday.

The following alert is from the SMC Alert System:
UPDATE ON WINTER STORM: High winds are expected to make landfall on the San Mateo County Coast sometime late Wednesday night, with heavy rain starting around 7:00 a.m. Thursday morning, lasting until around 1:00 p.m., turning to showers in the afternoon.
Secure any items that could be blown by high winds. Prepare by having extra flashlight batteries in the event of power outages. Have food and water on hand. Be alert for mudslides, and wires and trees down when driving.
Sandbags are available at the following Pacifica locations:
North:
Pacifica Corporation Yard, corner of Milagra and Oceana Blvd.
7:00am-4:30pm
South:
Linda Mar Fire Station, 1100 Linda Mar Blvd.
