Pacifica's New Peruvian Restaurant is Now Open

Puerto 27 Peruvian Kitchen & Pisco Bar serves up authentic Peruvian small plates and a robust selection of contemporary, classic and original cocktails.

 

The doors are finally open at Puerto 27 Peruvian Kitchen & Pisco Bar, providing Pacificans an intriguing new dining option.

The restaurant is located adjacent to the Pacifica Beach Hotel at 525 Crespi Drive and features 140-seat two-level dining room with ocean views. Design highlights include a color scheme of ocean blues and light orange, mirror accents, a white Caesarstone bar top with chocolate leather barstools, a Peruvian Amazon themed mural by Michael Brennan, and a large gold colored Inca head sculpture. A small outdoor patio will soon be open.

Executive Chef and owner Jose Calvo-Perez presents an authentic Peruvian small plates menu prepared with premium quality ingredients and techniques that have garnered him critical and customer acclaim for his work at both Pasión and the Fresca family of restaurants, all in San Francisco.

Working with Calvo-Perez to insure that the entirety of the Puerto 27 dining experience is a good one is Chef de Cuisine Chef de Cuisine Hector Diaz and Pastry Chef Masaki Uyema.

Among the notable offerings on the Puerto 27 opening menu, designed to be served family style, are such small plates ($10 to $18) as Peruvian style fried rice with sea urchin sauce; Pork Belly with Andean style potato stew; Causa Potato Makis and Anticuchos (Peruvian skewers); and a full service ceviche raw bar. For dessert, diners can enjoy warm Churros filled with dulce de leche or traditional Suspiro Limeño Pudding.

The Puerto 27 bar, headed up by Lead Mixologist Enrique Sanchez (previously at La Mar Cebichería Peruana and Limón, currently at Rose Pistola), specializes in pisco and also offers a robust selection of contemporary, classic and original cocktails. The international wine list includes more than 25 vintages, with about 15 available by the glass. Fairly soon there will be a bar menu available from 3 to 5 p.m. and Happy Hour service from 3 to 6:30 p.m.

The restaurant is open daily for dinner (and for the first week or so, dinner only) from 5  p.m. to close, and then subsequently Monday through Friday for lunch from 11  a.m. to 3  p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday for brunch from 10 a.m. to 3  p.m. Free parking in a private off-street lot is available.
