Pacifica School District Transitional Kindergarten and Kindergarten Information for immediate release

Pacifica School District Announces that Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten enrollment for the 2020/2021 school year is under way!

If you have a child who will be 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2020, your child is eligible to attend Kindergarten in fall 2020. Kindergarten Lottery Packets are available at all our TK-5 and K-8 sites as well as the Pacifica School District Office - 375 Reina Del Mar Avenue. Parents are encouraged to tour the schools to get a better understanding of each school’s program, but it is not mandatory. It is highly recommended that parents tour the schools they select as their first and second choices on the Kindergarten enrollment card. Parents are encouraged to tour one K-8 school and one TK-5 school if a TK-5 school. A tour of Ocean Shore School is highly recommended before selecting that site as any of the choices on the lottery card due to the Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO) component of this program.

If the number of applications exceeds the number of spaces available for any given site, a lottery for the available spaces for that site will be held. If a drawing is necessary, it will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, February 14, 2020 at Vallemar School.

Transitional Kindergarten

If your child’s 5^th birthday falls between September 2, 2020 and December 2, 2020, your child qualifies for the Transitional Kindergarten (TK) program offered at Ortega and Sunset Ridge Schools in fall 2020.

Transitional Kindergarten Lottery Packets are available at Ortega, Sunset Ridge and the Pacifica School District Office - 375 Reina Del Mar Avenue.

School tours are not mandatory for TK enrollment.
