Police Look For Would-Be BART Auto Thief

Unable to get the vehicle started, the suspect fled, taking a pair of sunglasses with them, police say.

DALY CITY, CA β€” BART police are looking for a suspect in a possible attempted vehicle theft from Thursday at the Daly City station.

A little after midnight, early Friday morning, the owner reported that someone had got into the vehicle and damaged the ignition in what seems to be a failed effort to steal it, according to BART police. Unable to get the vehicle started, the suspect fled, taking a pair of sunglasses with them.

The vehicle, the make and model of which was not disclosed by police, had been parked at the Daly City station from 6 a.m. to 11:50 p.m. Thursday and the attempted theft took place at some point during that time.
