Rainbow Fest a HUGE Success!

Pacifica Co-op Nursery School Rainbow Fest

Rainbow Fest a Huge Success!

The sun was shining and the weather was sweet, Sunday April 26th was an absolutely perfect day for Pacifica’s first Children’s Music and Arts Festival, Rainbow Fest, benefiting Pacifica Co-op Nursery School. Over 300 guests passed through to enjoy some sunshine, great food, super fun activities for kids, raffle prizes and an amazing concert put on by Charity and the JAMband.

Parents from Pacifica Co-op Nursery School worked together seamlessly to create this family fun day for the entire community to enjoy while raising funds for their children’s beloved “Rainbow School”. Kate Sosnowski, Co-op parent and 2015 Rainbow Fest Chairperson, wanted to bring something fresh and new to the fundraising table and boy did she deliver!

Kate had this to say, “My vision was to create an event where local families could enjoy each other, their friends and our wonderful community through arts, crafts, music and creativity. It was a beautiful sight seeing a sea full of children and adults doing just that. A HUGE thank you to our membership, all of the amazing businesses that contributed their time and goods, as well as the community who came out to support our school!”

Over 15 local businesses graciously donated their time and materials and created interactive booths for kids to explore. There were arts and crafts (Pacifica Mothers Club), granola making (Junior Chef Stars), a reptile show (The Lizard Lady), kids yoga (Ocean Yoga), sand art (Oddyssea), a martial arts demo (Family Martial Arts), pottery making (Clay Creations), a puppet show (Puppets on Parade), music making (Harmony Road), planting (Pacifica Community Gardens), book and toy sales (Barefoot Books), face painting and much more. Grown-ups were able enjoy beer and wine tastings courtesy of Almanac Beer Co. and A Grape in the Fog before making their way over to purchase a raffle ticket for the chance at some amazing prizes. Just when guests thought the fun might come to a close, they were invited inside for a concert from San Francisco’s finest Charity and the JAMband!!! A room full of kids and grown-ups alike happily sang and danced the afternoon away in The Mildred Owen Concert Hall. As the day wound down, all of the raffle prizes had been claimed and Charity and the JAMband preformed the final song, there was nothing but smiles on everyone’s faces. The day was a super success for Pacifica Co-op Nursery School in their fundraising efforts, but most importantly in their mission to create community and foster good old fashioned family fun!
