Man, 19, Shot Outside His Peninsula Home

The Belmont shooting suspects were in a dark SUV and last seen headed toward San Carlos, police said.

BELMONT, CA – A 19-year-old man was injured in a shooting in front of his home late Wednesday afternoon in Belmont, according to police.

Around 4:50 p.m., an SUV pulled up to the residence on the 1600 block of Chula Vista Drive, said Sgt. Peter Lotti of the Belmont Police Department.

The victim was outside of the house when the SUV, with three people inside, approached the victim. One of the SUV's occupants then shot at the victim once, striking him in the upper body.

All three suspects fled in the SUV, which was last seen heading south on Alameda de las Pulgas toward San Carlos. The vehicle was described as being dark-colored with the a possible gray interior, police said.

The victim was taken to a hospital. Information about his condition was not immediately available.

Police believe the victim may have been targeted and are looking into his relationship with the suspects.

"The victim’s relationship with the suspects is currently under investigation, but this does not appear to be a random event," Lotti said.
