San Bruno Featured in New York Times Story

The New York Times featured a story on its Technology page Saturday about efforts by Walmart to surge forward in its online efforts.

The story was reported from San Bruno and highlighted Walmart’s office here, @WalmartLabs, its amenities to attract workers and the fact that it currently has hundreds of openings.

Walmart is taking aim at Amazon. Walmart’s online revenue is projected at $10 billion this year, compared to Amazon’s projected $74.4 billion.

Writers Claire Cain Miller and Stephanie Clifford noted, “Although the fierce competition between Walmart and Amazon is occurring in all areas, to get the technological edge Walmart has to succeed in San Bruno.”

They also mentioned YouTube’s presence in the city.
