"Scouting for Food” drive, Saturday, Nov. 23, 2019
Local Boy Scouts delivered to Pacifica and nearby cities almost 110,000 door-hangers announcing this upcoming weekend’s “Scouting for Food” drive.
Saturday, November 23rd starting at 9:00 AM, Boy Scouts, both boys and girls, of all ages from the Pacific Skyline Council will be collecting non-perishable food from locations throughout San Mateo and northern Santa Clara Counties during their annual “Scouting for Food” collection drive. This annual community-service project benefits clients of local food banks and charities, including the Pacifica Resource Center.

If your residence did receive a door-hanger, please place your non-perishable goods in a recycled bag or box, attach the door-hanger to it, and place it outside in view of the street no later than 9:00 AM Saturday.
Please, no open or expired containers which can’t be accepted, nor frozen/refrigerated items and glass containers. Suggested non-perishable, non-expired foods include but are not limited to: Canned goods (tuna or chicken, fruit, vegetables, soups or chili, spaghetti or ravioli), Peanut Butter, Cereal or Pop Tarts, Pancake or Muffin Mixes, Crackers or Cookies, Instant Soup, Rice or Beans, Pasta, Powdered Juice or Milk, Dried Fruits, or Snack Bars.

If you did not receive a door-hanger, the Scouts invite you to participate by bringing your food and/or money donations between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM directly to one of the three, northern San Mateo County collection sites:
1) Pacifica--Pacifica Resource Center, 1809 Palmetto Ave. -- go up the Palmetto Ave. side ramp to drop-off, or
2) Half Moon Bay--Coastside Hope warehouse, 214 Harvard Ave. or
3) NOTE: New San Bruno location serving Millbrae, San Bruno, and So. San Francisco areas,
{This replaces the now-closed SSF Salvation Army Spruce Ave. site}
CWHH, Catholic Workers Hospitality House, 672 2nd Ave., San Bruno, xst. Pine St., the storage area for St. Bruno's food/shelter operation.
