Theft Suspect Arrested After Given Chase by Store Employees, Police
Kenneth Spoonhunter, 28, of Pacifica was arrested in suspicion of stealing a laptop from a computer repair store in Belmont.
A suspect, who stole a laptop from a Belmont computer service company, was arrested after being chased several blocks by store employees and police.
On Thursday, July 23, 2014 at approximately 6:00pm, a male suspect, later identified as Kenneth Spoonhunter age 28 of Pacifica, entered EPC Computer Solutions in the 1300 block of El Camino. Spoonhunter grabbed a laptop computer from a display and ran out of the business, pursued by store employees.
Employees chased Spoonhunter north on El Camino and then west on Waltermire St, where they lost him. Belmont Police were called and units began an area search. A few minutes later, officers spotted Spoonhunter in the 900 block of 6th Ave and Spoonhunter ran again. Officers chased Spoonhunter to the Walgreens Drug Store in the 900 block of Ralston Ave, where he was taken into custody without incident. The laptop, valued at approximately $1,500 was recovered.

Spoonhunter was booked into the San Mateo County Jail on multiple charges, including commercial burglary, grand theft, resisting arrest and violation of parole.
Surveillance cameras at the computer store show a second male subject, who was with Spoonhunter at the time of the theft. Belmont Police are looking for this person of interest, who is described as a white male in his 20s, approximately 5’8” tall, thin build. He was wearing a light colored baseball cap (worn backwards), black t-shirt, jeans and black & white tennis shoes. He was also carrying a light colored backpack with red straps or trim and a jacket or sweatshirt.
