Three Residents Displaced in Pacifica Fire

Firefighters responded Thursday night to a structure fire at an apartment building in Pacifica.

Firefighters responded at 7:36 p.m. to 89 Montecito Ave. to find heavy smoke and flames coming from the rear of a two-story apartment building.

The flames were coming from the garage portion of the building complex, and firefighters were able to extinguish the fire before it spread to the living areas of the building, firefighters said.

One person, who lived directly above where the fire broke out, suffered a smoke inhalation injury and was transported to the hospital for evaluation, firefighters said.

The fire caused major smoke damage to at least one apartment unit and minor smoke damage to another unit. The fire displaced three residents.

The American Red Cross responded to provide assistance to the displaced residents. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
