Tiger Wrestlers Place at Clash of the Lady Titans

Saturday, Feb 1, marked the end of the open tournament season for the Terra Nova girls' wrestling team.  The ladies closed out the season at Clash of the Lady Titans, Cesar Chavez HS, Stockton, with the return of veteran Natalia Ruiz, placing 6th alongside her teammate Marian Mejia.  Placing 4th were Sydnie Theisen and rookie wrestler, Yvonne Yip.  Rounding out the medals was veteran Teagan Allen, with a second place in her division.

Next week the girls will be competing at CCS, where the top three wrestlers in each class go on to qualify for the State tournament at the end of the month.  The Terra Nova girls, though young, are looking to match or better their performance from the past two years, with two second place team finishes.  Leading the team will be captains Allison Kretschmer and Mallory Moore, both powerhouse wrestlers and returning section placers.
