The San Mateo County's coroner's office is investigating the death of a woman whose body was found Sunday on Montara State Beach, a sheriff's spokesman said.
Passersby found the woman, who was in street clothes, on some rocks at the foot of a cliff close to the north end of the beach, San Mateo County sheriff's spokesman Detective Salvador Zuno said.
Her cause of death is under investigation but there weren't any obvious signs of foul play, Zuno said. Her name has not been released.

"There's a lot of questions still that they have to answer," he said.
Deputies received the call at about noon Sunday, and since it's a fairly popular beach, it doesn't appear that the body was there for long before somebody discovered it, Zuno said.
