Young Pacifica Runaway Sought By Police

The girl is just 14 and hasn't been seen in nearly two weeks, police say. (breaking)

PACIFICA, CA — Pacifica police are asking for the public's help finding a missing teen who ran away from home nearly two weeks ago. Tyla-Ann Placencia failed to return home from Oceana High School on Sept. 27, according to police.

"Tyla’s friends indicate that she is likely in San Francisco attempting to raise money for a bus trip to Ohio," police said in a news release issued Monday. "Although Tyla is experienced in riding public transportation, she is considered at risk due to her age."

Police did not elaborate on why the teen may have run away from home, nor why the first public plea was not made until 12 days since she was seen.
