Airplane Headstand: Passenger Takes Yoga to New Heights

A fellow passenger live tweeted the antics of a woman who decided to do headstands in her seat at 30,000 feet up on a flight out of LAX.

LOS ANGELES, CA -- You've probably seen all sorts of misbehavior and odd behavior on an airplane. That person who reclines the seat into your in-flight meal. That kid with the stinky socks who props his feet on your armrest. That drunk who chewed your ear off.

But you've probably never seen this before — a woman doing a headstand. A yogi flying from Los Angeles to Cabo San Lucas recently decided 30,000 feet up would be the right place to do some yoga (please don’t let this be the new thing).

Raad Mobrem, co-founder of WeDo.com, live-tweeted the entire escapade.

“That time when the person next to me started to do yoga on the plane,” he tweeted with a video of the woman doing a headstand in her chair. “Best Flight Ever.”

While fellow passengers were bemused. The flight crew, however, was not.

“It was pretty bizarre but it was also pretty incredible at the same time," Mobrem toldInside Edition. "She was doing it for like 20 minutes and then the flight attendant asked her to stop.”

After 20 minutes of the mile-high lotus and scorpion, the woman didn’t want to stop, but she eventually gave into the flight crew.

The best part about it? The guy in the seat next to her sleeps through the whole thing.
