The Amazing, The Local: Smart Beginnings/Easy Preventions 501 (c) (3)

Every month in Pacific Palisades at Temescal Gateway Park, long time Palisades resident Dr. Michelle Leclaire O'Neill, owner of The Mind Body Center on Via De La Paz, runs an outstanding non profit program, Smart Beginnings/Easy Preventions. It has been identified by the Annenberg Foundation to be one of the best programs they have ever seen. O'Neill, Ph.D, RN, has been participating in their Alchemy program, designed to help exceptional, grass roots, non profits succeed.

The program is relatively new. It began in May of 2008, with the help of philanthropist and creator of Crossroads and New Roads Schools, Paul Cummins. Cummins allowed O'Neill to post a flyer at a Charter High School for pregnant and parenting teens in East Los Angeles he helped create, to gain participants for her innovative, seven-year parenting education program, designed with the intention to ensure that moms have healthy full term pregnancies, prevent child abuse, and that the babies can achieve parity with their peers when the begin kindergarten.

Smart Beginnings/Easy Preventions' office is located at 855 Via De La Paz, Suite 1. All donations are tax deductible.

Thank you to local philanthropy
