Coroner IDs Body Found by Mulholland Drive as L.A. Man

A man whose body was found along Mulholland Drive was identified Tuesday by the coroner’s office as 51-year-old Drew Bernstein of Los Angeles.

Bernstein had a gunshot wound and his death was being investigated as a suicide, according to Craig Harvey of the coroner’s office. The exact cause of death was not listed because Bernstein had not been examined.

Firefighters were sent to a location off the 8300 block of Mulholland Drive about 8:45 a.m. Monday on a report of a possibly injured hiker and found a body, said Brian Humphrey of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
