Alper's Young Musicians Big Band and Jazz Combo at Lenny's

2 Bands count em' 2 Bands!!!

Alper's Young Musicians Big Band - an exciting and very talented group of 12 year olds will perform at Steve and Lenny's Sports Bar on Sunday June 10th from 3-5 PM.

This rockin' 12 piece ensemble will perform favorites by Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Glenn Miller, Henry Mancini, Herbie Hancock, Cannonball Adderly, Santana and even Elvis! The Group is backed by a pro rhythm section.

Instrumentation is 2 Trumpets, 5 Saxophones, 2 Trombones and 3 Clarinets. Alper's Young Musicians really swing and will wow you with their improvisation!

Also, as an added attraction and at no extra charge, Alper's young musicians jazz combo will open the show.  Featuring younger players on drums, bass, saxes and trumpet performing Jazz/R&B classics with lots of improvisation.

Directed by Gregory Alper (Alper Music School Pacific Palisades), who has enjoyed a 4 decade career performing, recording, composing for film and teaching young musicians.

He composed music for the original Warcraft game. Alper Music Schoolrelocated to the Palisades from Santa Monica in 2001.Alper says, "It’s inspiring to hear these young musicians swing. They arefearless in their solos. In addition to the full ensemble arrangements, eachmember of the band has an opportunity to improvise."
