Rosendahl Calls on Citizens to Help the Homeless

Councilman Bill Rosendahl is asking residents for donations to help run the Winter Shelter Program.

Councilman Bill Rosendahl is asking Council District 11 residents to help the homeless this holiday season. In an email, he asked citizens to consider donating items to the Winter Shelter Program.

The Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) runs the Winter Shelter Program, offering services from Dec. 1 through March 14, 2012. According to the LAHSA website, the program provides 1,498 emergency shelter beds at 16 locations throughout city of Los Angeles, as well as the county.

Rosendahl said in his email that over 200 beds will be provided on the Westside and that shelters need your help. If you would like to donate, Rosendahl's offices will serve as a drop-off location until Dec. 16.
