Suffer Losses In LA's Wildfires? Call 211

LOS ANGELES, CA — The city and county of Los Angeles Monday announced activation of the 211 disaster hotline for homeowners, renters, and business owners to report damages caused by the Creek, Rye and Skirball fires.

"We've started our recovery efforts in the Los Angeles County operational area," said Jeff Reeb, director of the Los Angeles County Office of Emergency Management.

"We ask anyone who suffered property damage because of the recent fires in Los Angeles County to dial 2-1-1 or visit www.211la.org to report their damages," Reeb said. "This will allow the county to determine if we have enough damage to seek a Federal Small Business Administration Declaration, which will offer low interest loans for eligible residents."

People with county property damage who are calling from outside the county may dial (800) 339-6993. Those who are deaf or hard-of-hearing may dial (800) 660-4026.

On Tuesday, authorities will activate a Local Assistance Center at 11075 Foothill Blvd. in Lake View Terrace for people throughout the county who are impacted by the fires. The center will be operational through Saturday.
