2 Injured In Cathedral City When Car Forced Into Oncoming Traffic

Two were hurt in a head-on collision when they were forced into another lane, the injured driver says. Police are seeking crash witnesses.

CATHEDRAL CITY, CA — A head-on collision in Cathedral City left two men injured, authorities said Wednesday.

The accident took place around 4 p.m. Tuesday in the 31200 block of Landau Boulevard.

According to the Cathedral City Police Department's investigation officer, a gray Toyota Corolla was driving south on Landau Boulevard and had just passed McCallum Way when a black Nissan Altima heading north crossed into the southbound lanes.

Police said the driver of the northbound Altima told officers he had been forced into the southbound lanes when a third party veered into the northbound lane.

The third-party has not been identified.

A 24-year-old man from Cathedral City was in stable condition with head injuries and a 19-year-old man from Thousand Palms was also in stable condition with complaints of pain in his neck.

The Cathedral City Fire Department took both victims to Desert Regional Medical Center.
