'Academy of Musical Performance' Students To Perform At Art Walk
Up to ten local students involved in AMP will perform acoustic acts of original music, as well as covers of their own favorite songs.

From the Art Place Palm Desert: The Art Place, Palm Desert Design District is pleased to present live entertainment showcasing the talented young musicians from the Academy of Musical Performance (AMP), during its April 4, ‘Art Walk & Wine Tasting’ from 4 to 7 p.m. Up to ten local students, in grades 6 through 12, involved in AMP will perform acoustic acts of original music, as well as covers of their own favorite songs.

Throughout the evening visitors can peruse seven art galleries featuring original and fine art, including contemporary paintings, glass sculptures, bronze works, pottery, and other art genres, and there will be steel sculpture and glass blowing demonstrations. There are also furniture and home décor shops, a 7,000 square foot fabrics manufacturer for custom window treatments and furniture, fresh flowers, and artists and interior designers will be present.
During the event Desert Wine Shop on Highway 111 will provide complimentary wine tasting. Desert Wine Shop is a multi-year winner of Desert Magazine’s “Best of the Valley” reader’s poll as the best wine shop in the Coachella Valley.

A portion of any evening sales will be donated to AMP. AMP is a nonprofit organization offering a contemporary music education program whose goal is to enrich the lives of young musicians living in the Coachella Valley by fostering productivity and social responsibility through creativity, communication and collaboration in the development and enhancement of musical performance and concert production skills through participation in a "rock band" style educational setting.
