Accused Gang Member Arrested After Running From Officers
The 23-year-old was arrested on several charges, including alleged possession of drug paraphernalia and replica handguns, officials said.

COACHELLA, CA – A 23-year-old Coachella man was arrested on several charges Friday afternoon after trying to run from gang task-force officers, according to authorities.
The Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force was conducting an operation at 3:30 p.m. near the 52000 block of Dos Palmas in Coachella that ended with the arrest of "documented criminal street gang member" Giovanni Huerta, who led officers on a foot pursuit before his apprehension, the Riverside County Sheriff's Department said.
Huerta was arrested and booked at the Indio Jail for an outstanding narcotics arrest warrant, probation and gang-injunction violations, suspected possession of drug paraphernalia and replica handguns and delaying a peace officer, deputies said.
