After 'Abnormally High' Use Of Blood, LifeStream Appeals For Help

From Lifestream: Due to abnormally high utilization at local hospitals, LifeStream is appealing to O-negative and O-positive blood donors to give blood, as less than a single-day supply is available of these critically needed blood types. O-positive red cells can be safely transfused into about 85 percent of the population; O- negative blood is the “universal donor” for red cells and can safely be transfused to all.

Through Saturday, March 24, LifeStream is offering O-negative and O-positive donorsn3,000 bonus Gift of Life Donor Loyalty points ($15 worth) for use to ”purchase” items in the
online donor store.

In addition, donors at LifeStream donor centers Wednesday, March 21 receive a $10 gift card; donors at LifeStream centers Thursday, Friday or Saturday (March 22-24) receive a coupon valid for a free Jack in the Box combo meal.
