4. Wife used flagpole to kill husband inside upscale gated community: Sheriff (lawandcrime.com) — Residents connected to the Palm Desert Sheriff's Station may be alarmed by a homicide case in which a 65-year-old woman is accused of killing her husband with a flagpole inside a gated community. Authorities detail a history of prior domestic-violence cases and protective orders, and prosecutors now seek to hold her without bail as the murder case proceeds.
5. Raju Mehta named Grand Marshal of 20th anniversary Paint El Paseo Pink (kesq.com) — Palm Desert's El Paseo will turn pink on Saturday, October 10, 2026, when thousands are expected for the 20th anniversary Paint El Paseo Pink cancer walk. Local jeweler Raju Mehta will serve as Grand Marshal, helping raise funds so Desert Cancer Foundation can support Coachella Valley residents who need help paying for cancer care.
